My Will Project

My Will is a joint project presented by the SC Bar Pro Bono Program, the Central Midlands Office on Governments- Office on Aging and the Law School Pro Bono Program.  The goal is to provide simple wills to low income senior citizens.  Clients are prescreened and complete a questionnaire before arriving at their appointment.  Volunteer attorneys, assisted by law students prepare and execute a simple will.  Law students also serve as the witnesses in the execution process. The SC Appleseed Legal justice Center in partnership with area lawyers and the Bryan Veterans Hospital present a once a month legal clinic for veterans. Issues that are handled include family law, expungements, and wills. No veterans claims will be handled. Law students assist with the on site intake of the previously screened clients. If you want to be a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children you must attend  7 two-hour training sessions. They are held every Tuesday but you do not have to attend them in any order.
